Her research focuses on bilingual Chinese culture communication. Previously, she taught in the Chinese Conversation Club at Duke University, tutored Chinese one-on-one at a Chinese school in Durham, U.S., and served as publicity officer for the North Carolina Chinese Scholars Sino-U.S. Exchange Association.
Liu has a master's degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from the Communication University of China.
