Chang Liu

Instructor of Chinese Language, Duke Kunshan University


Liu Chang is an Instructor of Chinese at Duke Kunshan University. Her academic interests focus on Chinese language education, intercultural communication, and curriculum development for international learners. She is particularly passionate about fostering global competence through language learning and promoting Chinese language and culture in diverse educational contexts.

Her teaching expertise lies in Chinese as a foreign language, and she has taught students across a wide range of proficiency levels in Singapore, the United States, and Germany. Her teaching areas include modern Chinese language, Chinese literature, and Chinese for academic purposes. She is also interested in integrating technology and project-based learning to enhance student engagement and support meaningful language acquisition.

Prior to joining Duke Kunshan University, Liu Chang served as Head of Mandarin at an international school in Singapore, where she led the design and implementation of Chinese language programs aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and IB curricula. In addition to teaching, she has been actively involved in teacher training, curriculum design, and assessment moderation. She is also an experienced IGCSE Chinese oral examiner.
