With a rich background in Fine Art, Game Design, Immersive Art, Theatre, and Themed Entertainment Design, Pang Nan’s teaching interests include Studio Art, Game Design, and Entertainment Design. With a Master of Fine Arts in Game Art from Tisch School of Art, Pang's research and creative endeavors are centered on immersive media installations, video game visual narrative studies, artistic game creation, theme parks, public art, and immersive theater projects.

Throughout his career, Pang has received numerous accolades, including awards from the DUMBO Art Festival in New York, the Saint-Etienne Biennale in France, Game Developers Conference, the Milan Design Week International Artist Exhibition, the Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles, the Shanghai Tank Gamer’s Art Festival, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong City Biennial UABB, and Glow Shenzhen.

Pang's academic journey includes nearly 25 years of fine art practice, 5 years in the digital art and video game industries, and 6 years of university-level teaching. He has held teaching positions at Hong Kong Baptist University and the City University of Macao, where he imparted his expertise in fine art and digital media art. In 2020, Pang presented his research on "IMMERSIVE GAMING ART" at the DIGRA conference in Finland. His sculpture piece "Interstellar Sandman" won the 2023 Shenzhen International Public Art Gold Award, and his immersive gaming art piece "Give Up the Ghost" was featured at the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Additionally, his mixed-media painting and animation work "LANG XANADU" was showcased at the Saint-Étienne International Biennial Exhibition and the Milan International Biennial Exhibition.

Two years ago, Pang founded Whale Théâtre studio in Los Angeles, a platform dedicated to experimental art and immersive theatre. This venture reflects his commitment to exploring the intersection of contemporary art and entertainment design, underscoring his belief that artistic expression transcends traditional boundaries.
