Yucheng Jin

Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Duke Kunshan University


Yucheng Jin is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Duke Kunshan University (DKU). His research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and human well-being, with a particular focus on how human-centered AI design can support mental health and enhance human creativity. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator of the Hybrid Interactive Intelligence (HII) Lab at DKU. At DKU, his teaching portfolio covers a range of core courses, including Data Analysis, Data Visualization, C++ Programming, as well as Data Structures and Algorithms.

He has authored over 35 peer-reviewed papers featured in top-tier academic venues such as ACM CHI, ACM CSCW, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies (IJHCS), and The Innovation. Beyond academic contributions, he holds ten issued patents that demonstrate his expertise in designing practical, high-impact interactive systems. Moreover, he is a regular member of the Senior Program Committees for major ACM conferences, including RecSys, UMAP, and IUI, and also acts as a reviewer for leading HCI journals and conferences such as ACM CHI, ACM CSCW, and IJHCS. He is currently an Executive Member of the HCI Committee of China Computer Federation (CCF). He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from KU Leuven. Prior to joining DKU, he worked as a Research Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University and served as a Senior User Experience Designer at Lenovo Research for four years.
