His research is centered on the convergence of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He is particularly focused on employing a human-centered methodology to the design and evaluation of AI systems, aiming to enhance human mental well-being and foster creativity. At Duke Kunshan, his teaching repertoire spans HCI, Data Analysis, Data Visualization, Recommender Systems, and User Experience Design.

He has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed scholarly articles, with his research appearing in top-tier conferences and journals like CHI, CSCW, IJHCS, and The Innovation. His novel and practical contributions have resulted in the issuance of ten patents. He is also an active member of the academic community, serving on the (senior) program committees for prestigious ACM conferences, including RecSys, UMAP, and IUI and reviewers for several top-tier HCI conferences and journals, such as ACM CHI，ACM CSCW, and IJHCS.

He holds a B.Mgt. in Information Management and Information Systems from Wuhan University in China, an M.Sc. in Informatics from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Leuven in Belgium (KU Leuven). Before his role at Duke Kunshan, he served as a Research Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University, making significant strides in HCI within the Computer Science Department. Additionally, he has four years of experience as a senior User Experience Designer at Lenovo Research.
