Dr. Bing Luo’s research focuses on the theory and practice of federated/distributed machine learning and data analytics, wireless communications and networking, game theory, and optimization, with cutting-edge applications in edge-based artificial intelligence (Edge AI), privacy computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G/6G wireless systems. He has published 18 first-author papers in leading journals and conferences including IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (JSAC), IEEE Transactions on Communications (TCOM), IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (TMC), IEEE INFOCOM, and IEEE ICDCS. Dr. Luo actively contributes to the academic community as a TPC/PC Member in prestigious conferences and workshops such as ICDCS, GLOBECOM, ICC, FL-NeurIPS, FL-ICML, FL-IJCAI, and FL-AAAI.
Before joining DKU, Dr. Luo was a joint Postdoc Researcher at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and Yale University. He received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Melbourne, and B.E. and M.S. from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). He was a visiting researcher at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yale University, Friedrich-Alexander-University, and Aalto University. Notably, he gained several years of valuable industry experience as a project manager at the Department of Networking, China Mobile Communications Corporation, China.
