Her current research interests center on higher education assessment with a specific focus on assessment literacy, social justice, and inclusive pedagogical and curriculum design. Davies adapts pedagogy to the needs of her students and the environment. Her current teaching innovations include community-based learning, intercultural engagement across diverse populations and the use of dialogic feedback to enhance inclusion and feedback effectiveness. Having taught multiple business and communication courses, she currently teaches across a range of EAP courses, an Intercultural Communication and Advertising course, and an interdisciplinary team-taught Climate Change course with a focus on Higher Education’s role. She is an active faculty member, having served on the faculty council, bylaws working group, research committee, conference organizing committee, and other notable service endeavors such as mentoring the flagship student community engagement program centered on developing Medical English language in local hospitals.
Davies holds an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) with Applied Linguistics, and a Post Graduate Diploma in TESOL (DELTA), specializing in higher education English language teaching management. She also holds a BA in International Business and has taught multiple courses from this discipline. Moreover, as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), her leadership and management experience has been recognized, having led large-scale international programs, managed quality assurance requirements across the region, and both designed and executed sustainable financial plans to foster partnership growth and long-term innovation.
