His research interests are machine learning and data-driven model for diseases, multiscale modeling of complex fluids, homogenization theory, and numerical analysis. Xu has a B.Sc. in mathematics (honors) from Ocean University of China and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Science and Technology China. From 2013 to 2017, he held postdoctoral positions at the National University of Singapore, the University of Notre Dame, the University of California, Riverside, and the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, Canada.

Xu has an M.A. in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from Beijing Normal University. From 2007 to 2011, she was a Chinese lecturer at Princeton University. She served as the Beijing language director before becoming Shanghai language director for the Alliance of Global Education. She has extensive experience in clearly defining and maintaining superior language instruction and working closely with students.

Lin's research centers at the interface of polymer synthetic chemistry and electrochemical energy storage, where she dedicates herself to seeking creative solutions in response to the challenges in new energy economy and future technological revolution.

吴科萍

Her research focus is the intersection among religion, gender, urbanization, public good, ethnicity, and charisma. She is especially interested in how people cross religious, ethnic, rural-urban and other boundaries. Her teaching interests at Duke Kunshan include ethnography of China, ethnicity and diversity, and urbanization and changing religious landscapes. She is the editor (with Robert Weller) of "It Happens Among People: Resonances and Extensions of the Work of Fredrik Barth" (Berghahn 2019) and the co-author (with Robert Weller, C.

Marcus Werner

His research is in mathematical physics, at the intersection of geometry and astrophysics. In particular, he is interested in general relativity, its modifications and applications, such as mathematical properties of gravitational lensing.

Peter John Wergin

His teaching interests center on growth mindset, intrinsic/extrinsic motivation, curriculum development and design, and learner assessment in the classroom. He believes the classroom is a place where students should be encouraged to be risk-takers, develop strategies that lead to autonomous learning and become empowered in their individual pursuits toward achieving success. He started his teaching career in schools in Canada and Japan, and spent nearly 20 years in South Korea, where he lectured at Korea University, Masan University and Changwon University.

翁真洁

Weng's research focus includes language teacher education, second language writing, culturally responsive pedagogy and technology use in educating multilingual students. In particular, she is interested in exploring the intersection among language teacher expertise, agency and identity. Her publications include journal articles, book chapters, book reviews and newsletters.

Daniel Weissglass

His work focuses on the intersection of philosophy, the cognitive sciences and emerging technologies. He has two major projects: Improving our understanding of cognition and the mind, and developing policies' ethical outcomes in health, science and technology. His past work includes papers on mental representation, cognitive architecture and reactivity, health ethics, AI ethics and game/media studies. His teaching interests include the philosophy of mind, cognitive/behavioral sciences, artificial intelligence and applied ethics, particularly in global health. Weissglass has a B.A.

王宇

Her research focuses on the role of intermarriage and individual achievement as pathways to social mobility in China during a period of rapid economic, social and demographic change. Her current project is about the interaction between demographic changes and assortative mating in contemporary China. Her articles have appeared in journals including Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, American Journal of Public Health, and Contraception. Wang has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in sociology from Renmin University of China, and an M.Sc. and Ph.D.
